We may think of politics as a pretty dry subject, but it turns out Canada’s prime ministers are quite a lively bunch. It turns out, our heads of state have done everything from star in tv movies to taking part in seances. Here are some of the strangest things our prime ministers (past and present) have gotten up to.


The great moustache

Justin Trudeau starred in a Canadian Miniseries, The Great War, in 2007. He played Talbot Mercer Papineau, a WWI war hero, and sported a three-musketeers-esque mustache. The future Prime Minister wasn’t the only unique casting choice in the film. The entire series was cast with descendants of the battle of Vimy Ridge, which is portrayed in the film.
