Santa Claus, Indiana

Santa Claus, Indiana was originally Sante Fe, Indiana, but the United States Postal Service made the town come up with a new name when another town named Sante Fe registered their name in Indiana. Although the reason for the fantastical name is lost in history, you’ll be pleased to know that the Santa Claus Post Office receives nearly 400,000 letters every Christmas!
