Our hail is mighty
“Hail the size of golf balls” was no exaggeration in Cedoux, Sask. on August 27, 1973. A hailstone from a storm that day is the largest on record in the country, at 11.4 cm long and weighing 290 grams (that’s 0.64 pounds). For comparison, that’s nearly as heavy as a human heart.
