20 wild animals to steer clear of during mating season

Praying Mantises

For male praying mantises, breeding can be a risky affair. Often, it’s no big deal. The male meets up with a receptive female, they mate, and they both go about their lives. But about 15 percent of the time, perhaps if the female is particularly hungry, she will eat her partner’s head, and she often won’t even wait till he’s dead to do it.
