It’s a common sugar substitute in cooking and baking

Anyone who’s ever eaten maple-glazed pork chops or roasted vegetables knows what we’re talking about here. While using maple syrup in baking is kind of old hat, using it in conjunction with cooking — specifically cold-weather recipes — is somewhat de rigueur these days.
