Kurt’s quad

In 1988, Canadian figure skater Kurt Browning did something that no one had ever done before: he landed a quad. A quad, or quadruple, is a jump that includes four rotations. Browning’s quad toe loop, which he landed at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, set the new standard. Today, no one would dream of a program without a quad.
