15 unforgettable moments in winter sports

Canada wins!

Canada takes hockey more seriously than pretty much everything else, so it was weird that prior to their Olympics appearance in 2002, the first nation of hockey had captured zero gold medals in hockey at the Winter Olympics after 1952. In 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Canadians — led by legends Mario Lemieux, Steve Yzerman, and Joe Sakic — ended that dubious streak by beating the United States 5-2.
