From iconic upsets to untraditional competitors, the Winter Olympics have had their share of unforgettable moments. And, even in non-Olympic years, the wonderful world of winter sports finds a way to provide some thrills amidst the chills.

The move had recently been made illegal in competition, and many suggest that Bonaly attempted and landed the backflip in order to be penalized.
