Newfoundland is the only Canadian province without any native snakes (which is weird, because St. Patrick never visited). That said, it’s not as if you can’t see a snake there. In recent years, Garter Snakes, which some people suspect arrived on the Rock by stowing away on hay bale shipments, have been found breeding in western Newfoundland.
