Canada’s snakes survive our harsh, unforgiving winters by hibernating. Depending on the species of snake and region they inhabit, snakes hibernate by burying themselves underneath sandy soils, within bedrock fissures, within burrows, in hollow logs, and even, in some cases, within ant mounds.
