Dempster Highway

Connecting the Klondike Highway in Yukon to Inuvik, Northwest Territories along the Mackenzie River delta is Canada’s northernmost and most remote highway—Yukon Highway 5 and Northwest Territories Highway 8—better known as the Dempster Highway. Beginning east of Dawson City and journeying through Tombstone Territorial Park, the Dempster Highway offers some amazing Northern Lights views, as well as the Richardson Mountains. This is one of the few highways where it’s recommended that you pull over!
