Writers don’t make much money, but while their occupation lacks in economic advantages, it more than makes up for in lifestyle advantages. The scribe’s life is transportable, transferable, and malleable. Sure it’s great to write for Toronto-based publications, publishers, and companies, but why pay Toronto prices for food, gas, and lodging? There are numerous rural communities that both foster and facilitate creative types, with all amenities close by, and the noise of urbania far away.
