They used to be wildly hunted

We don’t tend to think of wolverines as a creature that humans hunt, but this wasn’t always the case. The wolverine was once hunted widely, almost to the point of extinction, for its fur. Why? The fur of a wolverine is both thick and oily, which makes it frost resistant and therefore warm. Currently, wolverines are a species “of least concern.”
