15 astonishing facts about wolverines

Wolverines are built for the winter

Few animals are “built” for the winter the way wolverines are. Wolverines have pads on their feet that help when it comes to navigating slippery, icy territory. A wolverine’s claws are also helpful in this regard. Wolverines have thick fur to survive the winter, and because they have a great sense of smell, wolverines are as likely to find and eat dead animals under the snow as they are to hunt and kill their meals.
