Petitcodiac River, New Brunswick

In 2013, two California surfers set a world record by riding a single wave created by the Petitcodiac River tidal bore for 10 miles and two-and-a-half hours. Ever since, this sleepy New Brunswick community has become a destination for surfers looking for a unique challenge. The Petitcodiac River, flowing south to the Bay of Fundy, is known for some of the world’s highest tides.
