10 loveable dog breeds that originated in Canada

French Spaniel

Like all things Canadian, this breed shares something of a mixed heritage. The Spaniel-like setter is native to both France and Canada, first bred as hunting dog, and once quite popular with French royalty during the Middle Ages. The French Spaniel (French-Canadian Spaniel?) is recognizable by its white coat with brown markings.
